CHARLOTTE: One of your many quotes that stood out to me is; “I transform dreamers into bosses, writers, producers, and serial entrepreneurs." That ministered to my spirit in a real way, because not only did you follow your dreams, but you have also helped so many others do the same. What compelled you to reach back and help others on their entrepreneurial journey?

AZAREL: So number one, helping others, educating others; that’s always been me and my background. It’s a part of my character. It’s how I was raised. I come from a family full of teachers, even though I’ve always wanted to be an entrepreneur from the very beginning. I remember my Grandmother saying, “No you’re going to go to school, you’re gonna get this Master’s in Education, and you’re going to teach.” It’s in my blood to teach. Before I started writing books before I started making movies I was a teacher and I absolutely love it

The state of urban fiction has been dominated by women. How do you make your brand stand out?

 

I’m not worried about being the minority. My work speaks for itself. Every book I write is better than the last. You’re not turning down good food that has nourishment when you’re starving regardless of the chef.
